What is building in Frankston and Seaford like?
Frankston City runs from Seaford and Carrum Downs on the bay side to Langwarrin and Skye inland. Many streets have older homes on full-size blocks, which is exactly the kind of block a knockdown rebuild suits: keep the street, the school and the neighbours, and build new. Seaford is also where our current knockdown rebuild is, so it is the place to follow one of our builds stage by stage.
Planning applications here go to Frankston City (frankston.vic.gov.au); the building permit comes from a registered building surveyor.
What can Oakview build in Frankston and Seaford?

- Side-by-side homes on wider blocks: coming soon.
Knocking down in Frankston City?
- Homes built before the 1990s can contain asbestos, which a licensed removalist takes out before demolition.
- Planning overlays (heritage, vegetation, flooding) are on your property report from VicPlan; send us the address and we will look.
- Two or more homes on one lot need a planning permit from the council.
- A soil test and a feature and level survey set the slab design and show site costs early.
For a first idea of price, try our rough cost guide, or call 03 8658 7000.
Where else nearby do we build?
Up the road we also build in Dandenong and Keysborough and inland in Cranbourne, Berwick and Clyde North. If your old house is near the end of its life, our knockdown rebuild page explains the process from demolition to handover, and the stage payments that go with it.
How do you start?
- Send us the address: we look at the block, the title and the planning overlays.
- We plan the demolition and the new home together, and quote both.
- Once you sign, the permits are applied for: demolition, building and planning if needed.
- The old house comes down, then the new one goes up stage by stage to handover.
