Knockdown rebuild in Melbourne’s south-east
A knockdown rebuild with Oakview Homes means demolishing your existing house and building a new home on the same block. We have one under way in Seaford, and knock down and rebuild across Melbourne’s south-east.
Our Seaford knockdown rebuild has finished demolition and the site is starting. Here is how the process runs. On a wide block, one house can also make way for two: side-by-side homes are coming soon.
We rebuild on established blocks across the south-east, including Mount Waverley, Glen Waverley and Knox, Dandenong, Noble Park and Keysborough and Frankston and Seaford.
What happens at demolition?
The old house comes down and the block is cleared, ready for the new slab. In Seaford this stage is done.

From there the job runs like any new home: base, frame, lock-up, fixing and completion, finished with the details you choose.
See how we build, stage by stageWhat does a knockdown rebuild cost?
Every block is different, so we quote each knock down and rebuild on its own. The price comes down to four things:
- Demolition: the size of the old house, disconnecting the services, and licensed asbestos removal if the house has any.
- Site works: the soil, the slope, trees and access for trucks, which the soil test and survey show early.
- The new home: its size, its design and the finishes you choose.
- Permits: the demolition and building permits, and planning approval if your council needs it.
The new home is then paid for in stages as it is built; see the building stages and payments. For a quote on your block, send us your address.
