Townhouse builders in Melbourne’s south-east
Two or more homes on one block, for living in, selling or renting out.
Coming soon: taking enquiries now
Oakview Homes is adding townhouse builds to its work across Melbourne’s south-east. Our first townhouse projects are coming soon, and we are taking enquiries now from owners with a block that suits two or more homes.
Already have the block? Start with how a knockdown rebuild works, because most townhouse sites begin with an old house coming down.
What is a townhouse build?
Two or more homes built on one block, often double storey, each with its own entry, living areas and private open space. They can share walls or stand a short distance apart, depending on the block and the planning permit.
Do you need a planning permit?
Yes, in most cases. In Victoria, building two or more homes on one lot needs a planning permit from your council, assessed against the state’s ResCode standards for multi-dwelling development. If you want to sell the homes separately, subdividing the land into separate titles is its own process with the council and a licensed land surveyor.
How will Oakview build them?
Each home goes through the same five stages as every Oakview build, base, frame, lock-up, fixing and completion, with the finishes you choose. We plan the build around your permit conditions and the order the homes need to be finished in.
What will it cost?
Townhouses are quoted on the site, the permit and the design. Our rough cost guide gives a first idea per home, including GST.
